Scottish-made corporate gifts: branded candles and white-label fragrance

If you are looking for corporate gifts that say something considered about your brand, hand-poured candles and home fragrance from a Scottish maker are worth serious attention. We work with businesses across Glasgow and the wider UK to supply white-label fragrance products: your branding, our hand-poured soy candles, diffusers, and body care. This guide covers what white-labelling actually involves in practice, which products work best as client or employee gifts, and the lead times and minimum quantities to build into your planning.

What white-labelling means in practice

White-labelling, in simple terms, means a product made by us leaves with your name on it. We hand-pour our candles and diffusers in small batches at our Glasgow studio, then apply custom labels, tags, or packaging designed to your brand. The fragrance, the wax, the quality control: all ours. The identity presented to your recipients: entirely yours.

It is not a print-on-demand operation with a catalogue of generic products. We work with you on fragrance selection from our existing collection, discuss how your branding should sit on the product, and advise on what packaging format will travel well and look right on a desk or in a gift box.

Our white-labelling service is built around small-batch flexibility. You do not need to commit to pallet quantities. That matters for most businesses, where gifting runs tend to be a few dozen to a few hundred units rather than thousands.

Which products work well as corporate gifts

Not every fragrance product travels equally well in a gifting context. Here is how we tend to think about it.

Soy candles. Our 30cl single-wick candles are the most popular choice for client gifting. They burn for 35 to 45 hours, sit comfortably on a desk or shelf, and feel considered without being excessive. The 60cl three-wick format works well for higher-tier gifts or where you want a more substantial piece. Both are hand-poured in Glasgow from soy wax, vegan, and cruelty-free.

Reed diffusers. Our 200ml reed diffusers last roughly 8 to 12 months and need no attention beyond an occasional flip of the reeds. For offices or homes, that longevity means your brand stays visible for the best part of a year. No flame, no maintenance, no fuss for the recipient.

Body and hand wash sets. Our body and hand wash range rounds out a gift set nicely. A candle paired with a hand wash in a complementary scent makes a cohesive, genuinely useful gift rather than something purely decorative. These also work well for hospitality businesses, wellness providers, or anyone whose clients will appreciate something for daily use.

Mixing formats into a curated gift set is common. We can advise on what works as a trio or pair, and source kraft or rigid gift boxes that sit well with a natural, Scottish-made story.

The case for Scottish-made and small-batch

Volume suppliers exist for a reason. If you need 5,000 identical units with a six-week turnaround, a large contract manufacturer is probably the practical answer.

But for most businesses doing client or employee gifting, the numbers are smaller and the intention is different. You are not filling a warehouse. You are handing someone a gift that represents how you see them. A hand-poured candle from a Glasgow atelier, with honest ingredients and a story you can tell in a single sentence, lands differently to a branded notebook from a fulfilment house.

Small-batch also means we are not cutting corners to hit a price point. Every batch goes through the same quality control. Scent throw, burn performance, and label application are checked before anything goes out. We are a small operation and our name is on what we make, even when your name is on the label.

There is something to be said, too, for Scottish provenance. For businesses operating in Scotland, or selling a Scottish story to clients elsewhere, home-fragrance gifts from a Glasgow studio carry a specificity that a generic European manufacturer cannot replicate.

Lead times and minimum quantities

Planning is the part most people underestimate. Here is what to factor in.

Minimum quantities. We work with orders from around 24 to 36 units upwards, depending on the product. Candles and diffusers have slightly different minimums because of how batches are poured. We will discuss your numbers when you get in touch, and we will be honest if a run is too small to work for either side.

Lead times. For a straightforward branded label on an existing fragrance, allow three to four weeks from confirmed order to despatch. If you want custom label design, add time for that process before the order is placed. For large volumes or a new fragrance brief, six to eight weeks is more realistic.

Seasonal peaks. November is our busiest month. Corporate Christmas gifting enquiries that arrive after mid-October are difficult to fulfil. If you are planning end-of-year gifting, contact us in September or early October. We will tell you honestly what we can accommodate.

Sampling. We recommend requesting samples of your chosen products before placing a full order. You are asking your recipients to engage with a scent, which is a personal thing. Seeing and smelling the product first is worth the small delay.

Packaging and personalisation

The label is the most direct expression of your brand on the product. We work with a local label printer and can accommodate most brand guidelines, including Pantone-matched colour, logo reproduction, and custom copy. If you want a brief message from your team on the packaging, we can work that in.

For gift sets, kraft boxes with tissue and a branded insert card are the most common format we use. It is unfussy and it photographs well, which matters when clients share gifts on social media. If your brand calls for something more structured, rigid gift boxes are an option at slightly higher cost.

We do not offer engraving or vessel customisation on standard runs. The personalisation is in the fragrance selection, the label, and the packaging. That is where the real choices are anyway.

Common questions

What is the minimum order for branded corporate candles in the UK?

At Muir & Me, we typically work with orders from around 24 units upwards for white-label candles, depending on the format. Some larger contract manufacturers will quote higher minimums. If your quantities are in the dozens rather than hundreds, a small-batch maker like us is usually the better fit.

How long does white-label fragrance take to produce in Scotland?

For branded labels on existing fragrances, allow three to four weeks from confirmed order. Add time if you need custom label design, fragrance development, or are ordering in high volume. Get in touch as early as possible, particularly for Christmas gifting, where October is the practical deadline for most orders.

Are soy candles a good corporate gift?

They tend to work well because they are useful, they last, and they communicate a considered sensibility without feeling impersonal. A hand-poured soy candle with a burn time of 35 to 45 hours will sit on someone's desk for weeks. That is a long time for your brand to be present in a positive context.

Can you do mixed gift sets with candles and body care?

Yes. Pairing a candle with a matching or complementary hand wash from our body and hand wash range is one of our most requested corporate gift formats. We can advise on fragrance pairing and source the right box format to hold both products cleanly.

If you are considering branded fragrance gifts for your business, the best starting point is a conversation. Our white-labelling service page has more detail on what we offer, and you are welcome to contact us directly with your requirements. We will tell you what is possible, what it will cost, and whether the timing works.
