Muir & Me Ltd (we, us, our) is a home fragrance and body care studio based in Glasgow, registered in Scotland under company number SC870069. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information when you shop with us or use this website.

Information we collect
Information you give us
When you place an order, create an account, join our rewards programme or get in touch, we collect:
- Your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number where provided
- Your order history and any preferences or messages you share with us
- Account and rewards details, such as your points balance and referrals
Information we collect automatically
When you browse the site we collect limited technical information such as your device type, browser and how you use the site, through cookies and similar technologies. Analytics and marketing technologies are only used with your consent. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.
Payment information
Payments are taken securely by our payment providers through Shopify, our store platform. We do not see or store your full card details.
How we use your information
We use your information, and rely on the following legal bases, to:
- Process and deliver your orders and handle returns or refunds (to perform our contract with you)
- Run your account and the rewards programme (to perform our contract, or with your consent)
- Send order updates and respond to your enquiries (to perform our contract, or our legitimate interest in helping you)
- Send marketing emails, where you have asked us to (with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time)
- Understand and improve how the site is used (with your consent, through analytics)
- Prevent fraud, keep the site secure and meet our legal obligations (our legitimate interests and legal duties)
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted partners who help us run our business, including:
- Shopify, which powers our store and checkout
- Our payment providers, who process your payment securely
- Royal Mail and other couriers, to deliver your order
- Our email provider, to send order and account messages
- Analytics and advertising providers (Google and TikTok), only where you have given consent
We may also share information where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the United Kingdom. Where your information is transferred abroad, we take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or an approved adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it, to fulfil your orders, run your account, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Order records are kept for the period required by law. When we no longer need your information, we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, where there is no reason for us to keep it
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- Receive a copy of the information you gave us, to reuse elsewhere
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it
